  • Padres' Michael King: Steady in sixth win

King (6-7) allowed one run on four hits and two walks while striking out four over six innings to earn the win over the Diamondbacks on Wednesday.

King picked up his third quality start and second win in his last four outings. This was the eighth time in 19 starts that he's been able to limit an opponent to one run or less, and those performances account for five of his six wins on the year. He has a 3.41 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 92:43 K:BB through 108.1 innings.

  • Padres' Michael King: Takes no-decision Friday

King allowed two runs on three hits and two walks while striking out five over six-plus innings in a no-decision Friday versus the Dodgers.

King cruised through six frames, but he put two batters on base in the seventh. Adrian Morejon then served up a grand slam to Teoscar Hernandez, costing King a chance at the win despite the quality start. All things considered, he's fared well over his last four starts, allowing nine runs over 21.2 innings in those games, all coming against teams over .500 on the year. King has a 3.52 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 88:41 K:BB through 102.1 innings over 18 starts this season. The right-hander's next start is projected to be at home versus the Diamondbacks.

  • Padres' Michael King: Battles control problems

King (5-7) allowed four runs on three hits, four walks and two hit batsmen while striking out five over 4.1 innings to take the loss versus the Dodgers on Sunday.

King threw just 54 of 90 pitches for strikes. His sharp outing versus Atlanta last Monday looks like the anomaly -- he's walked at least three batters in three of his last four starts, and he's also plunked three batters over that span. King is at a 3.55 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 83:39 K:BB through 96.1 innings over 17 starts this season. He is projected to make his next start in a road rematch with the Dodgers.

  • Padres' Michael King: Bounces back for fifth win

King (5-6) allowed six hits and struck out five without walking a batter over seven shutout innings to earn the win over Atlanta on Monday.

King had given up at least three runs in each of his previous five starts, a span that including two where he didn't complete five frames. He responded Monday by matching his longest outing of the season to snap the skid. The right-hander is now at a 3.33 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 78:35 K:BB through 92 innings over 16 starts. He's been streaky at times in 2026, so this outing might help to get him back on track. King is projected to make his next start at home in a tough matchup versus the Dodgers.

  • Padres' Michael King: Lasts 4.1 innings Tuesday

King (4-6) was tagged with the loss Tuesday against the Cardinals after allowing three runs on five hits and three walks across 4.1 innings. He struck out one and hit a batter.

King posted a quality start in his previous outing against the Reds on June 10, but he struggled in this one and couldn't even get out of the fifth inning. The 31-year-old right-hander has allowed at least three earned runs in each of his last five starts, posting a 6.41 ERA and 1.46 WHIP across 26.2 innings over that stretch. He's expected to make his next start at home against Atlanta next week.

  • Padres' Michael King: Quality start vs. Reds

King did not factor into the decision in Wednesday's 5-4 win over the Reds, allowing three runs on seven hits and three walks over 6.2 innings. He struck out three.

All three of Cincinnati's runs against King came via the long ball -- the right-hander gave up a two-run homer to Spencer Steer in the fourth inning before JJ Bleday added a solo shot in the seventh. Still, it was an encouraging outing overall for King, who had struggled to a 7.47 ERA in his previous three outings, giving up four homers across 15.2 innings in that span. King's tentatively scheduled to face the Cardinals on the road his next time out.

  • Padres' Michael King: Gets no help in loss

King (4-5) allowed four runs on six hits and no walks while striking out four over six innings to take the loss Friday versus the Mets.

Three of the four runs on his line came via home runs by Jared Young and Luis Torrens. This was just the second time all season King has allowed multiple homers, though he has been taken deep in three straight outings. In that span, a three-game losing streak, he's given up a total of 13 runs over 15.2 innings. On the year, King has a 3.41 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 69:29 K:BB through 74 innings over 13 starts. The right-hander's next start is projected to be at home versus the Reds.

  • Padres' Michael King: Falters late in loss

King (4-4) took the loss against the Nationals on Saturday, allowing five runs on five hits and one walk with two strikeouts over six innings.

King allowed just one run through six innings before failing to record an out and being charged with four more in the seventh. The 31-year-old has now surrendered at least four earned runs in each of his last two outings while suffering consecutive losses for the first time this season. He still owns a solid 3.04 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 65:29 K:BB across 68 innings and will look to get back on track in a home matchup against the Mets next weekend.

  • Padres' Michael King: Ineffective in third loss

King (4-3) took the loss Sunday, allowing four runs on five hits and four walks over 3.2 innings against the Athletics. He struck out four.

King wasn't at his sharpest, surrendering a leadoff homer to Carlos Cortes and never settling into a rhythm before losing the zone and being lifted in the fourth inning. Sunday's shaky outing came on the heels of a dominant three-start stretch in which King posted a 0.96 ERA and 0.91 WHIP across 18.2 innings. Overall, the right-hander owns a 2.76 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 63:28 K:BB through 62 innings (11 starts) and will look to get back in the win column his next time out, which is tentatively scheduled for Saturday against the Nationals.

  • Padres' Michael King: Masterful in fourth win

King (4-2) earned the win Monday, allowing four hits and two walks over seven scoreless innings against the Dodgers. He struck out nine.

King was in complete control, freezing Dodgers hitters and permitting primarily soft contact when they did manage to connect. It marked a season high in innings for the right-hander, who also recorded a season-best nine punchouts. After an injury-riddled 2025 campaign, King has been healthy and stellar in 2026, posting a 2.31 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 59:24 K:BB across 58.1 innings (10 starts). He'll look to keep rolling next time out, which is tentatively scheduled for Sunday against the Athletics.
