Caleb Banks MIN DT
Vikings' Caleb Banks: Expected back for training camp
2d agoCoach Kevin O'Connell said in June that Banks (foot), who did not participate in spring practices, is expected to be ready by the start of training camp, Kevin Seifert of ESPN.com reports.
Minnesota's rookies are set to report to training camp by July 26, with training camp kicking off for the full team Aug. 1. The Vikings took a cautious approach in the spring with Banks, whom Minnesota drafted 18th overall in April. He sat out spring practices while recovering from a broken bone in his foot, which the defensive tackle out of Florida sustained at the NFL Scouting Combine in February.

Ajani Carter HOU DB
Ajani Carter: Expected to play this season
2d agoCarter is healthy enough to play in 2026 after undergoing and rehabbing from arthroscopic knee surgery, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Carter was waived from Houston's injured reserve list Wednesday, but he'll still need to pass a physical before getting another opportunity, whether it's with the Texans or a different team.

Ajani Carter HOU DB
Ajani Carter: Let go by Texans
2d agoHouston waived Carter (knee) from injured reserve Wednesday, Jonathan M. Alexander of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Carter was waived/injured by the team in May and subsequently reverted to IR. The cornerback is recovering from arthroscopic knee surgery undergone mid-May.
-
Xavier Thomas HOU LB
Xavier Thomas: Cut by Texans
2d agoHouston waived Thomas (undisclosed) from injured reserve on Wednesday, Jonathan M. Alexander of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Thomas had been cut with an injury designation in May and subsequently reverted to IR. The 2024 fifth-round pick has totaled 10 tackles, including 2.5 sacks, and one pass breakup across 18 career regular-season games.
-
Terrion Arnold DET CB
Terrion Arnold: Let go by Detroit
4d agoArnold (shoulder) was cut by the Lions on Monday.
The news comes shortly after an Associated Press report that a Florida judge has set a $1 million bail in connection to Arnold's ongoing felony trial for charges of armed robbery and kidnapping. Arnold is unlikely to resume his NFL career until his legal proceedings conclude.

Omar Cooper Jr. NYJ WR
Jets' Omar Cooper: Solidifying spot in three-wide sets
5d agoCooper was the Jets' most impressive rookie in spring practices and looks to have solidified his spot in three-receiver sets, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
The Jets traded up into the first round to draft Cooper 30th overall. The versatile rookie out of Indiana played both on the outside and in the slot in college, which should help Cooper get on the field consistently alongside Garrett Wilson and Adonai Mitchell. Per Geoffrey A. Knox of USA Today Jets Wire, Mitchell and slot receiver option Isaiah Williams were two of the Jets' top performers during the offseason program, so Cooper will need to continue building on his strong spring to secure playing time. That being said, Cimini expects Cooper's physical playing style to help the rookie shine even more once the pads come on in training camp.

Sung-Mun Song SD 2B
Padres' Sung-Mun Song: Posts seventh steal
6m agoSong went 1-for-3 with a stolen base in Friday's 4-3 loss to the Dodgers.
Song has three steals over his last eight games, and he's also gone 5-for-13 at the plate in that span. The infielder is filling a part-time role, and his path to playing time is a bit tougher after Jake Cronenworth returned to the lineup Monday to take over the starting job at second base. Song is batting .238 with a .666 OPS, one home run, seven steals, nine RBI and nine runs scored and 72 plate appearances. The bulk of Song's playing time will likely come when Manny Machado needs to rest his legs as the designated hitter.
-
Jackson Merrill SD CF
Padres' Jackson Merrill: Homers again in loss
10m agoMerrill went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a second run scored in Friday's 4-3 loss to the Dodgers.
Merrill has homered in consecutive contests and has hit safely in six of his last seven games. The outfielder has provided more all-around quality lately, going 20-for-83 (.241) with seven extra-base hits and eight stolen bases over his last 20 games. Overall, he's batting .215 with a .634 OPS, 10 homers, 18 steals, 33 RBI, 38 runs scored, 15 doubles and one triple over 84 contests.
-
Michael King SD SP
Padres' Michael King: Takes no-decision Friday
13m agoKing allowed two runs on three hits and two walks while striking out five over six-plus innings in a no-decision Friday versus the Dodgers.
King cruised through six frames, but he put two batters on base in the seventh. Adrian Morejon then served up a grand slam to Teoscar Hernandez, costing King a chance at the win despite the quality start. All things considered, he's fared decently over his last four starts -- he's allowed nine runs over 21.2 innings in those games, all coming against teams over .500 on the year. King has a 3.52 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 88:41 K:BB through 102.1 innings over 18 starts this season. The right-hander's next start is projected to be at home versus the Diamondbacks.
-
Teoscar Hernandez LAD LF
Dodgers' Teoscar Hernandez: Lifts grand slam in win
18m agoHernandez went 1-for-4 with a grand slam in Friday's 4-3 win over the Padres.
Hernandez came up clutch in the seventh inning, and his grand slam was enough to give the Dodgers a win. He has gone just 3-for-16 with five RBI over four games since he returned from a hamstring strain. The veteran outfielder is now batting .269 with a .772 OPS, eight homers, 36 RBI, 33 runs scored, two stolen bases and eight doubles over 55 contests this season.
-
Tanner Scott LAD RP
Dodgers' Tanner Scott: Locks down 12th save
20m agoScott struck out the side in a perfect inning to earn the save in Friday's 4-3 win over the Padres.
Scott got by on 18 pitches (12 strikes). He's earned six saves and a hold during his active eight-inning scoreless streak, and he has a 13:0 K:BB with one hit batsman in that span. The left-hander is at a 2.02 ERA, 0.70 WHIP and 45:3 K:BB through 35.2 innings this season while adding 12 saves and six holds. Scott's save chances will likely decrease once Edwin Diaz (elbow) returns, which is expected to happen later in the month, but Scott will continue to see plenty of high-leverage innings.
-
Shohei Ohtani LAD DH
Dodgers' Shohei Ohtani: Battling bicep issue
1h agoOhtani was removed from Friday's game against the Padres due to a bicep injury, Jack Harris of the California Post reports.
Ohtani said after the game that he became concerned about his bicep after his final at-bat in the sixth inning, but he noted that what he felt was similar to an injury he dealt with a couple of months ago that subsided relatively quickly. Although his injury is believed to be minor, manager Dave Roberts confirmed that Ohtani will not play Saturday as a precaution, per Harris. The two-way star gave up three earned runs on seven hits and two walks in six innings on the mound Friday and went 0-for-3 as a hitter.
-
Cameron Carr LAL SG
Lakers' Cameron Carr: Leads Lakers in scoring Friday
1h agoCarr finished with 19 points (7-15 FG, 5-11 3Pt, 0-1 FT), two rebounds, one assist and one block over 24 minutes in Friday's 104-72 California Classic Summer League loss to Golden State.
Carr led the Lakers in scoring while tying Yaxel Lendeborg for a game-high 19 points. He also made five three-point shots, three more than the rest of the team combined. The 2026 No. 24 overall pick is coming off a sound 2025-26 campaign at Baylor, where he averaged 18.9 points, 5.8 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 1.3 blocks and 0.9 steals on 49.4 percent shooting from the field and 37.4 percent shooting from deep across 33.7 minutes in 34 regular-season and postseason games. While Carr displayed flashes of promise in his Summer League debut, he faces an uphill battle for consistent playing time with the Lakers in 2026-27.
-
Will Richard GS PG
Warriors' Will Richard: Scores 16 points Friday
1h agoRichard finished with 16 points (6-8 FG, 4-5 3Pt), three rebounds, three assists and three steals across 21 minutes in Friday's 104-72 California Classic Summer League victory over the Lakers.
Richard, the No. 56 overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, wasn't a reliable producer for the Warriors throughout his inaugural year. However, the 23-year-old was serviceable when called upon, averaging 8.3 points, 3.4 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 0.1 blocks and 1.3 steals across 24.4 minutes in 21 regular-season starts. Richard has proven he can play at the NBA level, and it's possible he could show more signs of growth in his second season, especially if he continues to get opportunities to start.
-
Yaxel Lendeborg GS PF
Warriors' Yaxel Lendeborg: Impresses in Summer League win
1h agoLendeborg finished with 19 points (6-6 FG, 4-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT), five rebounds, six assists, one steal and one block across 22 minutes in Friday's 104-72 California Classic Summer League win over the Lakers.
Lendeborg had a fantastic showing Friday, scoring a team-high 19 points while going a perfect 4-for-4 from deep. The 2026 No. 11 overall pick is coming off a quality 2025-26 campaign at Michigan, where he averaged 15.1 points, 6.8 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 1.2 blocks and 1.1 steals over 30.2 minutes in 40 regular-season and postseason games. It's unknown how much action Lendeborg will see this summer, though it appears his performance Friday already improved his odds of carving out a meaningful role with the Warriors heading into the regular season.
-
Chris Manon LAL SG
Lakers' Chris Manon: Inks another two-way deal
3h agoManon agreed to a two-way deal with the Lakers on Friday, Khobi Price of The California Post reports.
Manon spent most of the 2025-26 campaign in the G League. The 24-year-old did make nine regular-season appearances for the parent club, though he averaged only 0.8 points, 1.1 rebounds, 0.3 assists, 0.2 blocks and 0.6 steals over 5.1 minutes in those contests.
-
Jahmir Young MIA PG
Heat's Jahmir Young: Plays well in SL win
3h agoYoung finished with 21 points (8-13 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 1-1 FT), three rebounds, four assists and three steals over 28 minutes in Friday's 88-87 California Classic Summer League victory over San Antonio.
Young tied rookie Ryan Conwell with a game-high 21 points. Although Young committed four turnovers, he made amends by amassing three steals while shooting an efficient 42.9 percent from deep. The 25-year-old appeared in 14 regular-season games for Miami in 2025-26, averaging 1.8 points, 0.3 rebounds, 0.6 assists and 0.1 steals across 4.1 minutes. The Heat declined Young's $2.41 million option, making him an unrestricted free agent. Still, he could earn another two-way contract or at least get a chance to try out for the team in training camp.
-
Ryan Conwell MIA SG
Heat's Ryan Conwell: Scores 21 points Friday
4h agoConwell finished with 21 points (4-12 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 4-4 FT), three rebounds and three assists across 29 minutes in Friday's 88-87 California Classic Summer League win over the Spurs.
Conwell shot an inefficient 4-for-12 from the floor Friday, though he still managed to tie Jahmir Young with a game-high 21 points to lead Miami to a one-point win. Conwell, the 2026 No. 37 overall pick, played for three schools before ending his college career in 2025-26 at Louisville, where he averaged a career-high 18.8 points along with 4.8 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 0.2 blocks and 1.1 steals over 30.9 minutes in 34 contests, which includes two games in the NCAA Tournament . Though Conwell will need to improve in areas of his game, he could find some minutes sporadically throughout the 2026-27 campaign.
-
Andrew Peeke UTA D
Mammoth's Andrew Peeke: Heading west
8h agoPeeke signed a one-year, $1 million contract with the Mammoth on Friday, Chris Johnston of The Athletic reports.
Peeke had five goals, nine assists, 82 shots on net, 105 hits, 135 blocked shots and a minus-12 rating over 77 regular-season games with the Bruins last year. The 28-year-old defenseman will be in the mix for a depth role in Utah, but he may occasionally serve as a healthy scratch. Peeke has some value in banger leagues but has never had more than 17 points in a season, so his scoring upside is limited.
-
Hendrix Lapierre PIT C
Penguins' Hendrix Lapierre: Inks two-year contract
8h agoLapierre signed a two-year, $2.6 million contract with the Penguins on Friday.
Lapierre produced 16 points over 74 appearances with the Capitals in 2025-26. He was dealt to the Penguins on June 25 as the Capitals needed to shed commitments following their aggressive retooling prior to the draft. The 24-year-old forward will be in contention for bottom-six minutes in 2026-27, but he may not play on an everyday basis.
-
Leo Carlsson ANA C
Ducks' Leo Carlsson: Accepts massive offer sheet
10h agoCarlsson accepted a five-year, $90 million offer sheet with the Flyers on Friday. Anaheim has seven days to either match the contract or allow him to join Philadelphia.
The Ducks would receive four first-round picks from Philadelphia if Anaheim declines to match the offer sheet, per Adam Kimelman of NHL.com. The 21-year-old logged 70 regular-season outings in 2025-26 and set career highs with 29 goals and 67 points. He's got plenty of upside, so it's not hard to see why Philadelphia is interested in him. Still, this would give him the highest cap hit of any player in 2026-27, ahead of even Kirill Kaprizov ($17 million) and Leon Draisaitl ($14 million). When coupled with the draft picks the Flyers would have to surrender, Philadelphia is taking a big risk. However, the Flyers' move has also put Anaheim in the awkward position of either giving Carlsson significantly more than they likely wanted or watching a young star leave just as Anaheim had seemingly transitioned from a rebuilding squad into a genuine contender.
-
Chase Bradley NSH LW
Predators' Chase Bradley: Pens two-year deal
11h agoBradley signed a two-year, two-way contract with Nashville on Friday.
Bradley was part of the five-player deal between the Preds and Avs that included Jack Drury. The 24-year-old winger figures to spend the bulk of the upcoming campaign in the minors with AHL Milwaukee, but could be called up as needed due to injuries among the Nashville forward group.
-
Jansen Harkins TB C
Lightning's Jansen Harkins: Signs two-way deal
11h agoHarkins signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Lightning on Friday.
Harkins had three goals, eight points, 28 PIM and 113 hits in 44 regular-season appearances with Anaheim in 2025-26. He also had five goals and 17 points in 11 regular-season outings with AHL San Diego last campign. The 29-year-old isn't guaranteed a bottom-six spot with the Lightning, but he should at least get an opportunity to earn that position during training camp.
-
Nolan Foote FLA LW
Flyers' Nolan Foote: Snags two-way deal
11h agoFoote agreed to terms on a one-year, two-way contract with Philadelphia on Friday, Jackie Spiegel of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
Foote managed just one point in 12 regular-season games for the Panthers last year. In the minors, the 25-year-old winger was significantly more productive, racking up 14 goals and 18 assists in 54 regular-season games with AHL Charlotte. If needed, Foote should be near the top of the short list of potential call-ups next year.
